Historic Flight Regulations
The below pictured tri-fold Airport Regulations pamphlet probably dates from the 1940s. The Fixed Base Operator was Hawthorne Flying Service, Incorporated and the Airport Manager was Mr Marvin Hembel. It’s interesting to note how many regulations were left to the local airport manager to develop, implement, and enforce before the days of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Period costs are always fun to compare with those of modern day as is the pre-1980s runway orientations. These obsolete regulations are published for historic purposes only.
